Our journey started with Chris and Stephanie Bates' mutual passion for nature and preservation. When a local non-profit sold the property, they saw an opportunity to protect this incredible land from high-density development and share it with others. For Chris, this place holds a special meaning. As a child, he rode horses through the trails when the property was operated by the Cub Scouts of America.
 
Together, Chris and Stephanie have poured their hearts into creating "The Falls at Lions Den." The cabins, newly renovated in 2024, offer a modern rustic feel with a seamless blend of comfort and the outdoors. With amenities like Wi-Fi and Sonos sound systems, we ensure that our guests enjoy both the convenience of modern living and the peace of nature.
 
As you arrive, you’ll pass by Bates Farm, where beautiful pastures and grazing horses welcome you. The farm adds to the serene, scenic experience that makes staying at "The Falls at Lions Den" so special.
 
Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including kayaking, hiking, paddleboarding, and fishing in nearby lakes. For those looking to explore, we’re also near the historic town of Kimmswick, where antique shops, charming restaurants, and occasional Mississippi River cruises offer a taste of local charm.
